Bo Sullivan first began his long career at WHYN radio in 1990 as a sports talk show producer. Bo then moved on to become the host of that sports talk show. In 1993, Bo became the sports anchor and co-host for the WHYN morning show. After a few hiatuses, both planned and unplanned, Bo came back to stay in 1996 as the morning show sports anchor, producer, and co-host.
Born and raised in Westfield, he's now raising his own family there. He lives with his wife Kris and daughters Leighanne and Shannon. When Bo was growing up, his father Richard Sullivan was superintendent of schools in two local communities. Politics runs in the family. Brother Brian is a Westfield city councilor and brother Rick is the city's seven term mayor. Besides transporting his children to various activities including CCD and swimming lessons, he coaches both daughters in three different sports. He also works as a part-time political consultant. In his scarce spare time, Bo likes to golf and is a frequent visitor to the Connecticut casinos.
What does Bo like most about his position at WHYN? For one, he's a big fan of waking at 3:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. He also enjoys meeting the many loyal listeners to the show. His lifelong ambition is to open a sports bar and play Texas Hold 'em every day of his life.
Whether or Vladimir Putin is considering a career in comedy as a writer, I am not certain, but his op ed piece in the New York Times indicates a clear promise in that regard, as the Russian president (aka; The Butcher of Grozny) seems to have a good tight grasp of irony, satire, sarcasm, and a “holier than thou” attitude, all served up in a steaming pile of hypocrisy!
Yes, the former Butcher of Grozny, the man who killed off over a hundred thousand Chechens managed to somehow lecture the U.S.A. in his best finger wagging manner, until you really felt he was channeling Ward Cleaver having another of his famous heart to heart talks with Wally and the Beav.
Mr. Putin decried American exceptionalism, and made it sound contaminated. Although the rest of the world seemed to find it a refuge from the oppression, dictatorial abuse and malevolence of the Old Soviet Union, and likeminded third world hell holes.
Perhaps Mr. Putin is unable to interpret this kind of exceptionlism, as it runs counter to regimes he so fondly remembers, that would check your ethnicity, and political leanings first, before any kind of service or benefit was proffered.
In Mr. Putins worn out tired out condemnation of America as a jingoistic jack booted rapacious thug nation, that has taken it upon itself to be the world’s policeman, just doesn’t seem to jive with thgose who have risked everything to come here.
Those who climb fences, dodge bullets, brave electric fences and float here in an inner tube through shark infested waters, just don’t seem to share that view of the land that gave them an opportunity for freedom, and a better life.
No, the Stalin acolyte is going to have a hard time peddling that brand of balderdash to shoes who understand and appreciate the life this country provides.
Mr. Putin’;s mock piety in tossing in the name of the Lord, (a name that was anathema during his tour of duty in the KGB, where religious suppression was tantamount to much else), is also the stuff that is only missing a laugh track.
Maybe I am missing something, but I don’t recall boats, and trucks filled with American people, sneaking out of the country to seek a better life in Russia, or in Syria.
Thank you, Mr. Putin for inadvertently doing so much, in one single little article –to bring the true meaning of American Exceptionalism , home to its people, and the rest of the world.
