Bo Sullivan first began his long career at WHYN radio in 1990 as a sports talk show producer. Bo then moved on to become the host of that sports talk show. In 1993, Bo became the sports anchor and co-host for the WHYN morning show. After a few hiatuses, both planned and unplanned, Bo came back to stay in 1996 as the morning show sports anchor, producer, and co-host.
Born and raised in Westfield, he's now raising his own family there. He lives with his wife Kris and daughters Leighanne and Shannon. When Bo was growing up, his father Richard Sullivan was superintendent of schools in two local communities. Politics runs in the family. Brother Brian is a Westfield city councilor and brother Rick is the city's seven term mayor. Besides transporting his children to various activities including CCD and swimming lessons, he coaches both daughters in three different sports. He also works as a part-time political consultant. In his scarce spare time, Bo likes to golf and is a frequent visitor to the Connecticut casinos.
What does Bo like most about his position at WHYN? For one, he's a big fan of waking at 3:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. He also enjoys meeting the many loyal listeners to the show. His lifelong ambition is to open a sports bar and play Texas Hold 'em every day of his life.
WHAT TO DO ABOUT SYRIA?
The newest conundrum!
A late breaking pickle for the president to be sure!
Do we have the stamina either overseas or here on the home front for another fiscally, emotionally, politically culturally depleting THIRD war in twelve years?
I suspect most would steadfastly maintain the country and the populace do not have the stomach or the energy for another massive division on the point.
Have we learned that the middle east will never respond to efforts to get warring tribes under control? To attempt to addict them to true democracy?
Or do we see them for what they are, at their best, barbarous and utterly medieval?
After all, the two factions in Syria are our enemies to begin with.
What do we care if they war on each other?
Further, if we make a lackluster show of measured military demonstration, and force, will it simply be laughed at by our detractors? Will the remnants of Al Qaeda convince themselves that the Great Satan has seen better days, and is toothless in the millennium?
Will it embolden and bring about the next “nine eleven?”
And why touch off Russia and China?
Well, the answer is very simple……ask yourself if you still believe in “American Exceptionalism.”
For if you do, then you will know that turning our collective back on the use of chemical weapons. is just something that we cannot do.
Not if we expect to live in a world community with any semblance of a moral authority.
So why does this lovely task fall to us?
It would appear…that we are it!
So like it or not (and I for one certainly do not) something must be done.
And somehow the words echo “if you want to get the job done…you will have to do it yourself”
As unappealing as this scenario might be….to live in a world that has descended into chemical weapon chaos, is a literal hell on earth.
