Bo Sullivan first began his long career at WHYN radio in 1990 as a sports talk show producer. Bo then moved on to become the host of that sports talk show. In 1993, Bo became the sports anchor and co-host for the WHYN morning show. After a few hiatuses, both planned and unplanned, Bo came back to stay in 1996 as the morning show sports anchor, producer, and co-host.
Born and raised in Westfield, he's now raising his own family there. He lives with his wife Kris and daughters Leighanne and Shannon. When Bo was growing up, his father Richard Sullivan was superintendent of schools in two local communities. Politics runs in the family. Brother Brian is a Westfield city councilor and brother Rick is the city's seven term mayor. Besides transporting his children to various activities including CCD and swimming lessons, he coaches both daughters in three different sports. He also works as a part-time political consultant. In his scarce spare time, Bo likes to golf and is a frequent visitor to the Connecticut casinos.
What does Bo like most about his position at WHYN? For one, he's a big fan of waking at 3:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. He also enjoys meeting the many loyal listeners to the show. His lifelong ambition is to open a sports bar and play Texas Hold 'em every day of his life.
All set to vote “yes” on the gas tax question?
Presuming it makes its journey to the ballot ?
Hope you are…
…after all, this is your chance to collectively say, “oh no you don’t…”
You don’t get to shaft us with a tax that can only increase in perpetuity, and slink away in the cover of legislative darkness.
That was the back room maneuver here…for the solons to have their cake and eat it too…
Towitt; the wrap this increase around your neck, but avoid any political repercussions, or election consequences.
In their infinite wisdom, the gas tax has been tied to the cost of living…therefore, as inflation takes it’s inevitable ride –in one direction—so goes the gas tax, and what it will cost you for the simple privilege of being able to operate a vehicle providing you with the wherewithal to continue to work, ----to pay additional tribute to the “Hill!”
Why, you aren’t even left with the knowledge of who’s behind it anymore!
One must ask themselves…if this tax is so necessary for the greater common good.. then why aren’t the crafters of it proud?
Why can’t they hold their heads on high, and say, “See? We did something for the ailing deteriorating infrastructure of our roads and bridges…and dams!” (yes, it’s always ‘roads and bridges and dams!”)
It’s because you, Mr. and Mrs. Voter with your only recourse to this nonsense, to express your feelings at the ballot box, have in fact, been headed off at the pass!
They will always tell you, that in the Commonwealth, we do have term limits!
It’s called an election……(this is most often punctuated and accompanied by a self satisfied smirk)…but…go ahead…just try and respond to this perfidy at the precincts!
They are a step ahead of you.
So, when you get the chance, show your displeasure with this new raid on your wallet, and say “come out come out wherever you are!” “You want more? Each year? Then show yourselves!”
Let’s hope Coakley and Galvin and all those associated with this process do the right thing, and give you the voice that you are constitutionally entitled to when the time comes!
