The 100 mile bike ride is a fundraising event for the "Law Enforcement Memorial" outside the State House in Boston, MA. There are 200 police officers, fire fighters, federal agents and other law enforcement personnel taking part in the ride.
On Saturday, June 22nd we are having a fundraising event at the Basketball Hall of fame parking lot from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
The Carl Edwards #99 Aflac NASCAR race car will be at the Hall of Fame. NASCAR fans and the public can come and have their picture taken with the famous car and make a donation to the "Ride-to-Remember". There will be raffles and Springfield Police "Ride-to-Remember" t-shirts for sale. Police Officers, police cars and tactical vehicles will be on display along with the Springfield Police Department K-9 Officers putting on demonstrations.
We also have a K-9 Car at the Hall-of-Fame and we are inviting anyone with a pet dog or cat to bring them to this event and pose their pet inside the K-9 Cruiser for a donation!!! The picture of your own dog inside a K-9 right above "To Serve and Protect" will be a keepsake for sure!!
All donations will go to the "Ride-to-Remember". The ride is in honor of fallen officers, Kevin Ambrose from Springfield and Jose Torres of Westfield who lost their lives in 2012. Their names will be added to the monument at a ceremony on September 21st at the conclusion of the "Ride-to-Remember" Law Enforcement Bike Ride at the State House in Boston.
Please come and donate to a worthy cause.
