Police made two arrests in Springfield Wednesday night. Acting on complaints from residents in the McKnight section of the city, police arrested 31-year-old Jose Fernandez of Chicopee after allegedly observing a drug transaction take place.
The second suspect, Henoc Rodriguez, 49, of Springfield was taken into custody after a short chase.
Authorities seized 31 grams of cocaine, 420 bags of fentanyl, and nearly 13-hundred in cash from Fernandez; in addition to drug charges, he faces motor vehicle theft and an outstanding warrant.
Rodriguez is charged with possession.
