Springfield Officials Hear Complaints About Winter Storms

City officials in Springfield met Monday night to discuss solutions to the issue of plowing streets after a snowstorm.

Residents complained about a lack of plowing, especially on side streets following the recent winter storms.

Malo Brown sits on the City Council and chairs the Maintenance & Development Committee.

He says the biggest problem has been hiring enough drivers and related personnel to clear 11 hundred miles of roadways.

Officials agreed communication is key, and also informing potential workers of the benefits they'll receive.

Another issue is that those who are applying for plow jobs- don't take the jobs because of the city's residency requirements.
