Flags At Half Staff In Connecticut To Honor Fallen Firefighter

Governor Ned Lamont has ordered Connecticut and U.S. flags to half staff to honor North Haven firefighter Matthias Wirtz.

The 46-year-old fireman died while battling a blaze in a multi-unit home in North Haven early yesterday morning.

Lamont says the state is honoring Wirtz's courage and bravery in responding to the fire.

The governor says his passing is a painful reminder of the sacrifices made by first responders to protect state residents.
