Will The Mask Mandate Be Retired In Springfield Schools?

The Springfield School Committee is meeting on Thursday night to discuss whether to keep a mask mandate in place.

The school board previously agreed to keep the requirement until at least the end of March.

Springfield is one of only a few remaining districts in Massachusetts that has kept the mandate in place despite the state giving the green light to have students take them off last month.

The School Committee is expected to make the masking optional for the rest of the school year.
