State Police Remind Residents Of 3 G Phaseout

The Massachusetts State Police is reminding residents to be aware of the upcoming phaseout of the 3-G network. People with older mobile phones may need to upgrade their devices to ensure access to 911. The state police says you should check with your mobile provider. Cell phone companies are planning to phase out 3-G next year.

AT&T will shut down its 3G network by the end of February of next year.

Verizon by the end of December of next year.

T-Mobile will finish the change over by March of next year

Sprint will shutdown 3G by the end of March of next year.
