Gusting Winds Could Prove Difficult For Drivers And Walkers

A huge winter storm is blasting across the Great Lakes, through the Appalachians and into the Northeast. 

Gusts from 40 to 70 miles an hour are reported with the strongest gust clocked at 88 miles an hour in West Virginia. 

Niagara Falls, New York had a 74-mile an hour gust while gusts between 60 and 70 miles an hour hammered Buffalo,

Rochester, Cleveland, and Lima, Ohio. Blizzard warnings are out from the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes to central New York and authorities are strongly discouraging people from driving in those regions.

Winds throughout most of central and northern Connecticut and Western Massachusetts could gust to some 55 miles per hour.
