Baker Signs Bargain Bill

The measure known as the grand  bargain bill will be signed by Governor Charlie Baker today.

The  governor is holding a signing ceremony for the bill, which raises the  state minimum wage to 15-dollars an hour by 2023.

It will also allow  nearly all employees in the state to take up to 12 weeks of paid family  leave starting in 2021.

The paid family leave will cost  800-million-dollars a year, and will be funded through a payroll tax on  state workers and employers.

The bill will allow for a permanent state sales tax holiday in August something that western Mass lawmakers had been wanting for years.
