President Trump will keep detention facilities at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba open.
In his first State of the Union address, The President claimed that terrorists are not "merely criminals," but rather "enemy combatants" who should be detained at the military facility.
He noted the coalition to defeat ISIS has seen great success in Iraq and Syria, claiming the coalition had liberated "almost one-hundred percent" of the territory once held by ISIS fighters in both nations.
Yet, he said there was still much work to be done and pledged to fight the terrorist network until it was totally defeated.
President Trump also outlined plans for immigration reform. In his State of the Union Address, Trump said the first pillar is a path for citizenship for people who were brought to the United States at a young age.
The second pillar involves border security, including a wall along the southern border and more border patrol agents.
The third pillar is getting rid of the "visa lottery" program and replacing it with a merit-based immigration system.

Meantime, Democratic Congressman Joe Kennedy is urging Americans to remain strong in the Democratic response to President Trump's State of the Union address.
Kennedy, on behalf of his party, assessed the state of the union to be "hopeful, resilient and enduring."
Kennedy says Democrats have a "better deal" for Americans than their Republican counterparts.
Kennedy said that deal includes a living wage, affordable child care, "trade pacts that are fair," a health care system that offers "mercy," and roads and bridges that "won't rust away."
Kennedy, the grandson of former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, also took aim at President Trump's social stances.
