The state is getting more than one-million-dollars in federal grants to strengthen support for victims of domestic violence.
Specifically targeted are two populations at high risk, individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing and families involved with child welfare who have experienced domestic violence.
According to the National Centers for Disease Control, nearly one in three women and one in five men in Massachusetts have experienced physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
